The first problem every person needs to solve is the problem of Hell. The reason
we have this problem of being condemned to Hell is that we are all sinners.
According to the Word of God:
ALL have sinned and thus are not righteous (having no sin) Romans 3:23 For all
have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; and Romans 3:10 As it is
written, There is none righteous, no, not one: If we die in our sins the Bible states
that we are separated from God, in Hell and then will be cast alive into the Lake
of Fire. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ our Lord. and Rev. 20:12-15 And I saw the dead, small
and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book
was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those
things which were written in the books, according to their works. [13] And the sea
gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead
which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
[14] And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
[15] And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the
lake of fire.
But the Bible also declares that since God loves us, He has solved the problem
of Hell 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men
count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should
perish, but that all should come to repentance. And Romans 5:8 But God
commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for
us.
See the Bible is here to show us that even though we have this problem about
going to Hell, God shows us that there is a way to spend eternity with Him. John
20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the
Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
God provided the solution to Hell in the form of Jesus Christ, His only begotten
(unique, special, virgin-born) son, who being fully Man and fully God would live a
perfect sinless life and then be judged on a Cross on Mt. Calvary for our sins. By
dying and being Resurrected Jesus achieved victory over death, Hell and the
grave. So, when you and I believe (trust, place faith in) what Jesus did for us &
then confess that to the Father the Bible says we are saved; saved from what,
saved from Hell. At the moment of Faith (Belief) in Christ we receive His
Righteousness and we can have assurance that we are a child of the living God.
John 3:15-18 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
eternal life. [16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17]
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world
through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but
he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the
name of the only begotten Son of God. And Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall
call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. and Romans 10:9-10 That if thou
shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that
God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart
man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation. After you are saved you will still encounter temptation, sin & other day-
to-day problems in life. If the Bible shows you the answer to the Problem about
Hell, then it should also show you answers in other areas of life.
At the moment of salvation the Believer is Baptized, Indwelled and Filled (Lead)
by the Holy Spirit. The Believer NEVER loses the Baptism or Indwelling of the
Holy Spirit. But upon acting on temptation (yielding to sin) the Believer loses the
leading of the Holy Spirit. It can be recovered by naming our sin to God (not to
me or any other Pastor, Preacher or Priest) in an act called Confession. By
confessing sin(s) we show God we agree that we have transgressed or sinned
and are desirous of having the leadership of the Holy Spirit again. So to solve
any problem, you need to make sure you are Filled with the Holy Spirit. Note the
10 Problem Solving Devices For the Believer:
Naming Sin(s) to God. Since we choose to sin, in confession we choose to regain
the leadership of the Holy Spirit. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful
and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
This action occurs immediately after Confession. This is the leadership of the
Holy Spirit. Ephes. 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be
filled with the Spirit;
As a Believer in Jesus Christ, the time in which I can rest is: Each Day. Most
Believers hold Sunday as the “Day of Rest” or Sabbath (which means rest).
While honouring the Sabbath Day is a part of the 10 Commandments, many fail
to understand the Sabbath God referred to in Exodus 20:8-11 is Saturday. Yet
we do not Worship on Saturday. Instead we Believers worship on Sunday the 1st
Day of the Week to continue honouring the Day of Christ’s Resurrection (John
20:1, 19; Acts 30:7, 18). Paul states the day is not anything to argue or debate
about (Col. 2:16) but rather the rest of the Believer is available to you at anytime.
What this means is that when a problem arises or something happens you are to
rest on the promises of God and not “fall apart.” This takes 2 actions: 1 –
Casting the problem at God’s feet and leaving it there and 2 – Claiming a
Promise of the Word of God to stabilize your soul in the time of distress. 1 Peter
5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. And Hebrews 4:9-11
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. [10] For he that is
entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from
his. [11] Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the
same example of unbelief. And Isaiah 33:6 And wisdom and knowledge shall be
the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his
treasure.
Study, Memorize and Read the Word of God to stabilize yourself in times of trial,
temptation & etc., to show Christ you love Him by applying His Word and to grow
closer to the Lord. 2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our
Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
And Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is
your reasonable service. [2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good,
and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
By learning and growing in the Word and in Christ you also grow in His Grace
and learn to apply and live by it. 2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the
knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and
for ever. Amen. and Genesis 50:15 And when Joseph's brethren saw that their
father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly
requite us all the evil which we did unto him. And Matthew 18:21-22 Then came
Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I
forgive him? till seven times? [22] Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until
seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. And Romans 1:17 For therein is the
righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall
live by faith.
Many times people wonder why they must continue and be in such a trial or
tribulation. It is during such low times, in the “Valley of the Shadow of Death” that
we understand God’s plan for our life. This plan is revealed to believers as they
seek, pray, read and inquire of God. Therefore, a mature Believer should not
desire to end his/her life or stop living but rather they should realize that because
they are breathing still God has a purpose for them. Philip. 1:6 Being confident of
this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until
the day of Jesus Christ:
We love God as we understand and realize all He has done for us we then show
God we love Him by Obeying His Commandments. Please see our New
Testament Commandments for the Believer Page. John 14:15 If ye love me, keep
my commandments.
By obeying the commands of Christ we in turn will show love & concern for others
even though they be your enemy, etc. John 15:17 These things I command you,
that ye love one another.
Since our hope is not of this world and since this world is not our home, we place
our hope in Christ. We reach this level as a mature believer knowing our fate and
existence does not depend upon the World. Knowing also that as a believer in
Fellowship with the Spirit, Lord and Word one can have unlimited happiness and
share such with a lost, dying and hopeless world. Philip. 4:11 Not that I speak in
respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be
content. And 1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now
ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
No matter what happens or occurs in life when you learn to put Christ 1st in all
aspects, all is better. Philip. 1:20-21 According to my earnest expectation and my
hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so
now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
[21] For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain
